The National Technical Committee for Standardization of Food Processing Equipment (TC383) and the Subcommittee on Commercial Electric Food Processing Service Equipment of the National Technical Committee for Standardization of Household Electrical Appliances (TC46/SC7) held the national annual standardization work meeting, standard seminar, risk monitoring work meeting and publicity session on relevant laws and regulations for commercial electrical appliances industry in Shandong from October 13 to 15, 2020.

At this annual meeting of the Technical Committee, the Secretariat presented a summary report on the work of the Technical Committee in 2019. Participants also discussed the standard system table, the re-election of the Technical Committee and the work plan of the subcommittee.

During the meeting, national standards including Safety of household and similar electrical appliances – Particular requirements for commercial electric dishwashers and Electric-heated food ovens, as well as light industry standards such as Commercial induction cookers and Commercial electric water boilers were discussed. Knowledge concerning risk monitoring of food machinery products was also shared. The meeting aims to enable committee members and relevant enterprises to track, monitor, analyze, assess and issue timely early warnings on quality and safety conditions of the industry and key regions, so as to make supervision more scientific, predictable and effective.

With the active organization of the Secretariat and the cooperation of all committee members and relevant enterprises, the meeting successfully fulfilled all scheduled tasks and achieved a complete success!
